You may be wondering how to connect your AirPods to a Windows 10 PC, and you assume compatibility with these devices is difficult. Well, it’s not, and while you obviously won’t get the same level of seamless integration as you get across the entire Apple lineup, learning how to connect AirPods to a Windows 10 laptop or desktop is a cinch. This easy guide show you how to do this.

Connect AirPods to a PC with Windows 10
1. Turn on Bluetooth on your Windows 10 machine
Hit Get started and go to settingsthan devices† Make sure you have Bluetooth switched to the ‘on’ position.
2. Add a new device
Select Add Bluetooth or other device top of the page. When presented with the Add a device menu, select the Bluetooth option.
3. Pair your AirPods
Place your AirPods in their charging case. Close the lid and open it again. Press and hold the white housing Setup button until the housing LED flashes white. You should see your AirPods appear in the device menu on your computer screen. Select them and you’re good to go.
If you have automatic switching turned on, your AirPods will automatically switch between Apple devices that are signed in to the same iCloud account, such as if you’re listening to music on one and receiving calls on the other. If you pair your AirPods with your Windows 10 laptop, this won’t happen.
To reconnect to your iPhone or other Apple device, you must do it manually by selecting the AirPods from your phone’s Bluetooth menu. Conveniently, though, if you walk away from your PC with the earbuds paired, they’ll automatically switch to other previously paired devices in range, like your iPhone.
